Unstoppable buff on all the non minion killable trash

As far as what the Champion has

Relentless Buff

Ghost Armor

Tactics to kill

White Hand Guard
Ideally, minion kill. If not, they are 100% CC able (note they do not have the Unstoppable buff). They do hit semi hard, but burn quickly.

Gurnakhi Honorguard
Tank and spank, they have an aggro table untlike the T1 versions. Ideally have them balled up and a couple of tanks swapping on each. Given the stupid dps/aggro on some DT's, this could mean they keep pulling both and then kiting to save their lives, so we either need to have those tanks position themselves so the adds are together and they aren't hitting both or we have the adds tanked a little distance apart and kinda split the raid between the two. Kinda like the golumns @ emporer normally end up. They hit hard but nothing to worry about.

White Hand Spellguard
This is where we learn about The Touch of Hyperborea, and the result - Frostbite.

What we know:

  • Cast time is 2 seconds
  • 1st cast is after 10 seconds
  • Cast interval for 2nd onwards is 40-45 seconds. This has been added to combat monitor

What we think we know

  • Everyone the boss faces gets affected
  • 1 of each archetype is affected
  • You can avoid the first one by not doing anything to the mob (Note: we will need to test if you do any thing to the other mobs if this holds true).
  • You can use a dread shadow. By sending in a dread shadow to start and then another after about 5 seconds we may be able to avoid if not limit who is affected by where the boss is facing.

What we need to determine / test

  • If the 2 DT's that send the dread shadows then move to behind the boss, will they still get stunned. We did 1 test only and the dread and the 2 dt's were stunned, and nobody else
  • If we use a dread shadow for each of the casts and have nobody facing (180 degree) with everyone behind her and back a little, can we limit it to 4 people.

As this is the painful mecahnic on the boss, this is the add where we will focus most of our time.
Note: If we get it to 5-10% we will reset it. Either by taking a death and waiting, or having it reset by kiting it down and away. If we kill it, we can't continue testing in that instance.

Gurnakhi Painbearer
This is where we learn about Focus of the Masochist and Focus of the Sadist. If we get it wrong, you also learn about Rage Implosion.

I'll start with Rage Implosion. If it cannot do it's charge at the end of the cast, it will do Rage Implosion which is instance wide, everyone will get it.

Focus of the Masochist

The boss will stop and cast this on someone. At the end of the cast, he will perform a charge (performing a "Blitz" which is like a column attack effectively killing everyone in it's path). You need to move away some distance (not too far), say 5 meters clear of the raid. Everyone else needs to ensure they also react and move away from between the add/boss and where this person is. If you move too far or don't move at all (and he can't charge), he'll punish us with Rage Implosion.

As soon as he finishes his charge, he will then perform Focus of the Sadist. (or is it sadism)
This (with 99% confidence) will always be the person that had aggro before he started Focus of the Masochist. So we can start to prepare while the previous bit is happening. Again, once the cast is finished he'll charge. The length of this charge can be alot longer than the charge for Masochist. But if he can't do the change (for example, you line of sighted it), then he will Rage Implosion. At the end of the change, he does an AOE for say 10 meters (it's just a quick thing), once done, either do it where he is, or take him back to the centre.

What we know

  • Everyone effectively balls up around it, ranged dps can be ranged, pretty much do whatever
  • On the cast of Masochist, everyone reacts to ensure he can change (3-8 meters maybe) his target with nobody between.
  • The tank that had aggro prior to the masochist cast can then also position themselves, everyone should be at least 10 meters (or more) from them and again not between the masochist person and the sadism person
  • Once the charges are done with, dps, dps, dps

What we think we know

  • DPS can continue during the cast and charges, but do not be within 1-2 meters when he finishes the cast and does the charge, you will cope blitz
  • The target for Masochist is random, sometimes it's the further person, sometimes it's a tank, there doesn't appear to be a common theme. If you can identify something, I'd love to know.

Strat from a friend of mine, they got the Boss to 33 %. Still missing some details, but, more ideas better right ? We can try.

Already spoke with Scaev about this and i showed (or i tried at least) in Test Live and he is agreed to give it a few tries.

You can use the same strat for adds, the big add has the same charge mechanism. (or almost the same idea)  He charges so, ball up, watch target target and get out to the empty position.

At 75 %, 50% and 25 % will be an AoE wich makes a lot of damage, to avoid that players need to separate eachother like in Bat T3.5 to avoid the damage.

*** I forget, healers on boss need to move to sides to avoid get frozen when the cast starts, but if any get the ice just malee dps on him (this is for the archetype ice selection)***
