T6 Emerald Leviathan

Buffs:

There are 3 different ways to get these buffs, debuffs and the dot that comes with it:"
- Steps in the  poison behind boss
- Step in the poison cloud on the floor after alchemy ability from boss.
- Walk into one of the bombs
You always get 1 from the top row and all 3 from the bottom row.
When 'lotus suppression' runs out you can take it again and you will get the 2nd stack from the top row up until 3 stacks. You can take the buffs to improve your dps/aggro on the boss but you will have to live with the consequences -> less incoming healing, pretty hard-hitting dot, etc.

Strats 1st version on TL downed 2/7/2015:
The boss is pulled from the poison corner to the middle of the room.
Ranged dps stays ranged in groups between the crystals on the sides of the walls and the crystals that follow the boss, melees and tanks hug boss. The crystals that are following the boss try to send beams towards the lights at the walls. If they reach it you get hit by a roomwide hit called amplified light which hurts quite a bit so at any time we must make sure there is always someone between the crystals at boss and the crystals at wall.
- Every now and then the boss will cast 'colors of magic' this will move the emeralds floating behind him to a random spot in the room. A minimum of 2 players (soldiers can do it alone) must stand below those emeralds to share their damage or the whole raid gets hit. From 75%-50% there appear to be two emeralds in the room during 'the colors of magic', from 50% down there are 3 and after 25% there are 4. More then 1 set of emeralds can spawn on one side so run and spread out fast. If there is one in the poison from where the boss is pulled it must be dealt with by a soldier since he can survive both the damage from the emeralds and the poison.
- After 90% the boss will start doing a spell called 'bioengineering' roughly every 20 seconds I think this spell will spawn floating bombs under the players furthest away. From 90-66% this spawns 2 floating bombs, from 66-50% there are 4, from 50-25% there are 6 and from 25% down there spawn 8. The way we deal with it is placing that required amount of people furthest away. This can be done by anyone. After the 'bioengineering' cast is done you have about 2 seconds to move away before the bombs detonate. All players that are assigned to spawn them bunch up tightly and spawn them close together. Tanks take turns walking into the group of bombs to detonate them all at the same time. Regardless of how many there are they always hit for the same amount of damage and only apply dot once.
- After 75% the boss will start doing a spell called 'alchemy'. This spawns a poison circle on the floor which gives the same buffs as walking in the corners or detonating the bomb (see top). You can either move out or, if you think you can survive it, you can step in and get the damage buff. The poison thing disappears after about 5 seconds.
- After 50% the poison from alchemy will start behaving slightly different: it will spawn from boss and move in 4 directions away from him towards all walls. (so in the shape of a cross)
- Apart from an increasing amount of bombs from 'bioengineering' and emeralds during 'colors of magic' there are no new things to deal with after 50%

All in all the fight is very doable bordering on too easy.

please post suggestions/additions/ideas/corrections and I'll add to OP.

It was nice to see the emeralds/crystals from distance yesterday.

The big crystal at the boss try to send a double beam to the 4 crystals on the walls every 6sec which can be successful (huge dmg comes from Amplified Light) or it can be blocked by sby between (minor Emerald Light dmg on that person). It stops during Color of Magic (when the big crystal turns into 1 and more lesser crystals) and begins again when the big crystal returns to the boss after Light Fantastic was casted.

Thanks! That explains that then! So one person between emeralds on the walls and boss should be enough hopefully. It also explains why we sometimes get hit in the start when the boss is moving towards the middle: because the light following boss is trying to reach the crystals at the wall already before it is in the middle and the blockers are positioned to block it from the middle.

With 8 people on bomb duty, 1 aggroholder, and 4 people in almost fixed spots that leaves 11 people to do the emeralds during 'colors of magic'. Of course LoS blockers and bomb eaters can help with it too if something comes close to them but bomb eaters can't help at the other side of the room if they want to be in time to spawn the next bioengineering.

We need to find a job for barbs to do every now and then so they can lose some hate since boss takes so much physical damage. Maybe put them on emerald duty during 'colors of magic' so they are away for a couple seconds every now and then. Or see if a DT can hold aggro and survive in a talisman build. I think it might work if you never take the alchemy crap.
